Portrait Design

Designing your portrait is simply putting all the elements together to create a piece of artwork that enhances your home and touches your heart anew each time you see it.

Your portrait style can be determined by whether you wish to display the image over the sofa or on your desk. One location may call for a field of flowers with a small child in the corner, the other requires a close up of your child's sweet smile and dimples.

Formal can be interpreted as a traditional grouping in your living room, or barefoot in a tux and evening gown on the beach. Wearing riding clothes with the beautiful horse you love can grace the foyer with tranquility, or the entire family in jeans and t-shirts on the deck can portray the casual lifestyle you love.

Start by closing your eyes and imagining the perfect portrait... where are you? who is included? How do you want to feel when you look at the portrait on the wall? How do you want others to feel?

About the artist

Katie fell in love with photography in high school and still feels the magic of it today. After twenty five years in Ohio, she sold her studio and relocated, with her husband, to the Metro DC area on their 'empty nest adventure'.

Here, she has left the studio behind, bringing her work to a more personalized level. With her clients' homes, the beach, or their favorite spots in the Washington area as her ever changing backgrounds, she creates one of a kind portraits, storybook albums and fine art images, unique to each individual or family.
